Your dollars will go toward enhancing programs and services. These
funds can be either unrestricted or donor designated. Best of all,
Avery Heights is classified as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization
by the IRS, and your donations are tax deductible. There are many
ways to donate:

Donate Stock
Please consider a donation of stock to Avery Heights. Stock transfers
can be made by electronic transfer of the shares from your account
directly to Avery Height’s brokerage account. Prior to transferring
the stock, please have your financial advisor contact the Development
Director at 860-527-9126 x346 .
Planned Giving
Please consider supporting AVERY HEIGHTS through a planned gift.
Planned giving helps AVERY HEIGHTS to continue its important work
by allowing us to be there for those who need us today and for those
who will need us in future generations.
Charitable Gift Annuity
This is a contract between Avery Heights and the donor. In exchange
for the charitable gift annuity donation, Avery Heights pays a fixed
payment for life to the donor or the designated individual(s) who
has previously been agreed upon by Avery Heights and the donor.
The benefit to this form of planned giving is:
- Guaranteed fixed payments for life, a portion of
which is not taxable
- A charitable income tax deduction for a part of
the gift
- Reduced capital gains tax
Bequest
Another method of planned giving is a bequest. This can be a simple
provision in your Will naming AVERY HEIGHTS as the beneficiary.
It can state the following:
"I bequeath the sum of ___________dollars ($_______) to Avery
Heights for its general charitable purposes."
or
"I devise and bequeath all the rest, residue and remainder
of my estate to Avery Heights for its general charitable purposes."
